Just like our 100% medical grade silicone, the pigment we use is a body safe silicone dye. We ensure that our products are safe for direct body contact for extended periods of time. That includes the pigments we use.
Choosing to Pigment the Diva Disc
In recent years, many medical-grade pigments have entered the market. When the DivaCup was first released, however, this wasn’t the case. Medical-grade pigments weren’t as common or as safe as they are today. We felt it was best to keep the DivaCup unpigmented.
Now, with the release of the Diva Disc, we’ve crafted a new product — designed to solve the issues with other menstrual discs on the market — with a little more personality to its appearance.
What is Body Safe Silicone Pigment?
The pigment we chose for the Diva Disc comes from a list of approved pigments which are classified as safe for use in medical device manufacturing. Our “violet ash” pigment is approved for direct body contact for extended periods of time. The Diva Disc is, therefore, safe for up to 12 hours of continuous period protection.
Our reusable menstrual disc was consciously designed to be biocompatible and safe for internal use.
A bonus? Because the Diva Disc now comes in “violet ash”, any discolouration that may naturally occur over time will be less noticeable. This kind of discolouration is very common with internal devices and is contingent on your unique body chemistry and flow. If staining does occur, the Diva Disc is still entirely safe for use.
Upgrade Your Period Protection
The violet ash Diva Disc is grounded and bold. It’s made of 100% medical-grade silicone and body safe pigments. It’s a perfect choice for up to 12 hours of comfortable period protection.
